At Compline, Hymn Te lucis sung in the Ordinary melody with normal doxology, No Preces, Salve Regina sung kneeling in the Simple Tone.

* Because proper responds are given for the first nocturn at Mattins today, the lessons are to be taken from the Common (from Ch. 8 of St. Paul's Epistle to the Romans) instead of the occurring Scripture. This is keeping with our revised rule that the occuring Scripture is to be used for the lessons at the first nocturn on all Semidouble and Double (Minor) feasts unless they contain proper lessons and/or responds for that nocturn. If only the responds are proper, the lessons default to the Common as is the case today. We do not endorse the 1962 practice of using proper responds in conjunction with the occurring Scripture.
