Office: Festal Office from the Common of Apostles. Hymns at the Hours are sung in the Advent melody with the regular doxologies.

At Mattins: Invitatory Regem Apostolorum, Hymn Aeterna Christi munera, 3 nocturnes = antiphons (doubled) and psalms from the Common, 1st. nocturne - lessons and responds from the Common, 2nd. & 3rd. nocturnes - lessons from the Proper w/ responds from the Common, Lesson 8 = 8&9 combined, Lesson 9 of Ember Saturday (=3 lessons combined), Te Deum.

At Lauds: Antiphons Hoc est praeceptum meum, etc. from the Common w/psalms of Sunday, ChapterHymn Exsulter, and Versicle from the Common, Benedictus antiphon Quia vidisti, Thoma from the Proper, Collect from the Proper, Comm. of the Ember Day (Antiphon - Nolite timere for 21 December, Versicle Vox clamantis, Collect from the Proper), No Suffrages.

At Prime: First antiphon from Lauds w/ Pss. 53, 118.1, and 118.2; Chapter Regi, Verse in short respond = Qui venturus es in  mundum, No Preces, Short Lesson Ibant Apostoli from the Common.

At the Hours: Respective antiphons from Lauds w/ the respective divisiones of Ps. 118, Chapter, Hymn, and Short Respond from the Common, Collect as at Lauds.

At Mass (after Terce):  Gloria, Comm. of the Ember Day, Credo, Preface of the Apostles, Ite missa est, Proper Last Gospel of the Ember Day.

In places outside of conventual Masses when allowed: After None, second Mass of the Ember Day w/o commemoration of St. Thomas. At the earlier Mass of St. Thomas, the Ember Day snd its Proper Last Gospel are not commemorated.

At Second Vespers: Antiphons Juravit, etc. w/ Pss. 109, 112, 115, 125, & 138 from the Common, Chapter, Hymn Exsultet, and Versicle from the Common, Magnificat antiphon Quia vidisti, Thoma from the Proper, Collect from the Proper, Commemoration of the following Sunday (Antiphon = O Oriens, Versicle Rorate, Collect of the following Sunday), No Suffrages.

At Compline: No Preces, Alma Redemptoris Mater sung in the Solemn Tone, standing.

After Compline, the liturgical color changes to violet for the 4th. Sunday of Advent.
