Notes for Lent:
1. Except on Sundays themselves, Vespers are sung in the late morning just before midday, even in festal Offices.
2. All Feriae of Lent are major, non-privileged and have precedence over Simplex feasts, the latter being commemorated at Vespers, Lauds, and Mass only. The Feriae are always commemorated at Vespers and Lauds in feasts of nine lessons. 
3. The Office of the Dead is prayed on Mondays (i.e. on Sunday after Vespers and on Monday after Mattins & Lauds) unless a festal Office occurs on Monday 

22 Feb. First Sunday of Lent; Semiduplex-Privileged I Class, Violet. Dominical Office of Lent. At Mattins, 3 nocturnes: Invitatory and hymn proper for the season; antiphons and psalms from the Psalter; versicles of the season, rest from the Proper, no Te Deum. At Lauds, antiphons from the Proper with Pss. 50, 117, 62-66, Benedicite, 148-149-150; chapter proper, Suffrages of Our Lady, etc. At Prime, antiphon proper with Pss. 53, 92, 118.1, 118.2 and Quicumque, Dominical Preces. At Mass (after Terce), no Gloria,  2nd. orations A cunctis, etc., 3rd. orations for the living and the dead, Tract, Credo, Preface of Lent, Benedicamus Domino. Vespers of the following day (change to white), Comms. of S. Paul and the preceding Sunday, no Suffrages. At Compline, no Preces.

23. Chair of S. Peter at Antioch, A, Duplex Majus, White (transferred from 22 February). Comms. S. Paul and the Feria. Office from the Common of Bishop-Confessors and the Proper. At Mattins, lesson IX of the Feria (=all three lessons read as one), Te Deum. At Lauds, Comms. of S. Paul and the Feria, no Suffrages. At Prime, no Preces. At Mass (after Terce), Gloria, Comms. of S. Paul, Feria, and the Vigil of S. Matthias, Tract, Credo, Preface of the Apostles, Ite Missa est, Proper Last Gospel of the Feria. In places where the conventual festal Mass follows Terce, another Mass of the Feria is offered after None; when such occurs, the respective commemorations and Proper Last Gospel are omitted. Vespers of the following day (change to red), Comms. of the preceding, S. Paul, and the Feria, no Suffrages. At Compline, no Preces.

24. S. Matthias, A, Duplex II Classis, Red. Comm. of the Feria. Office from the Common of Apostles and the Proper. At Mattins, lesson IX of the Feria (=all three lessons read as one), Te Deum. At Lauds, Comm. of the Feria, no Suffrages. At Prime, no Preces. At Mass (after Terce), Gloria, Comm. of the Feria, Tract, Credo, Preface of the Apostles, Ite Missa est, Proper Last Gospel of the Feria.  In places where the conventual festal Mass follows Terce, another Mass of the Feria is offered after None; when such occurs, the respective commemorations and Proper Last Gospel are omitted. II Vespers of the feast, Comm. of the Feria, no Suffrages. At Compline, no Preces.

Vespers of the following Second Sunday of Lent, Suffrages of Our Lady, etc. At Compline, Preces (sung standing).


No post-Tridentine feasts are added to the universal kalendar this week; the CTO is again exactly as the 1570 kalendar would have been, save for the Gregorian dates. S. Peter Damian (23 Feb) and S. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin (27 Feb) are particular observances.
