At Mattins: Invitatory Hodie si vocem audieritis w/ Ps. 94 (no Gloria Patri) and hymn Pange lingua gloriosi praeliam certaminis of Passiontide, one nocturne w/ antiphons and psalms from the Psalter for Wednesday (Gloria Patri is sung after each psalm), versicle proper for Passiontide, lessons and responds from the Proper (no Gloria Patri in the third respond), no Te Deum.
At Lauds: Antiphons from the Proper w/ Pss. 50, 64, 62-66, Canticle of Anna, and 148-149-150, Chapter and Hymn Lustra sex w/ versicle Eripe of Passiontide, Bened. Ant. proper, Ferial Preces, Collect proper, no Commemorations.
At Prime: Hymn Jam lucis sung in the melody for Passiontide, first antiphon from Lauds w/ Pss. 53, 25, 118.1, and 118.2, Chapter Pacem, Short Respond - no Gloria Patri, Ferial Preces, Short Lesson Faciem for Passiontide.
At Terce, Sext, and None: Hymns sung in the melody for Passiontide, antiphons two, three, and five from Lauds, respectively, w/ the respective divisi of Ps. 118, Chapters and Short Responds of Passiontide, Ferial Preces, Collect from Lauds.
Mass after None; the deacon and subdeacon wear violet folded chasubles. Ps. 42 omitted, no Gloria, 2nd. orations for the Church or the Pope, no 3rd. orations. The Passion of S. Luke is sung by three deacons as on Palm Sunday after which the deacon of the Mass, in broad stole, chants the Gospel passage at the end. No Credo, Preface of the Holy Cross, Benedicamus Domino.
At Vespers, sung (in the morning) before the midday/main meal: antiphons and psalms from the Psalter for Wednesday, chapter and hymn Vexilla Regis w/ versicle Eripe for Passiontide, Magnif. Ant. proper, Collect proper, no Commemorations.
At Compline: Hymn Te lucis sung in the melody of Passiontide, Preces. Ave Regina caelorum is sung tonight for the last time this year; there will no seasonal Marian antiphon again until Compline of Holy Saturday.
After Compline, the normative format of the Office is suspended until First Vespers of Low Sunday. The Holy Water founts of the church are emptied and the Blessed Sacrament is removed from the tabernacle before Tenebrae. The liturgical colour remains violet for the Office tonight and the next day.
