N.B. During this week, any Duplex feast so occurring is transferred to the first free day after Trinity Sunday. Occurring Semiduplex and Simplex feasts are either omitted (Sunday-Tuesday) or commemorated (Wednesday-Saturday) this year.

Sunday, 24 May - Pentecost Sunday, Duplex I Classis, red w/ Privileged Octave. Office Proper. At Mattins, one nocturne (Pss. 47, 67, & 103), Te Deum. At Terce, hymn Veni Creator replaces the hymn Nunc, Sancte nobis today and throughout the Octave. At Mass, Gloria, no Comms., Greater Alleluia & Sequence, Credo, Preface of the Holy Ghost, Communicantes and Hanc igitur of Pentecost, Ite Missa est. II Vespers of the feast, no Comms.

Monday, 25 May -  Pentecost Monday, Duplex I Classis, red. S. Gregory VII, PC, Semiduplex, and S. Urban I, PM, are omitted this year. All as on the feast except proper lessons at Mattins, proper antiphons for the Benedictus and Magnificat, and a proper Collect for this day. Mass is proper to the day. II Vespers of the day, no Comms.

Tuesday, 26 May -  Pentecost Tuesday, Duplex I Classis, red. S. Philip Neri, C, Simplex and S. Eleutherius, PM are omitted this year; however, in Rome and where else S. Philip Neri is observed as a Duplex, his feast is transferred to Monday, 1 June. All as on the feast except proper lessons at Mattins, proper antiphons for the Benedictus and Magnificat, and a proper Collect for this day. Mass is proper to the day. II Vespers of the day, Comm. of the following S. Bede only.

Wednesday, 27 May - Ember Wednesday in the Pentecost Octave, Semiduplex, red. Comms. S. Bede the Venerable, CD, and S. John I, PM. All as on the feast except proper lessons at Mattins, proper antiphons for the Benedictus and Magnificat, and a proper Collect for this day. No doubling the antiphons at the major Hours. At Lauds, Comms. S. Bede and S. John I. Mass (after None) is proper for this day, Gloria, Comms. S. Bede & S. John I, Credo, Preface, Communicantes, and Hanc igitur of Pentecost. II Vespers of the day, Comms. of the following and S. Bede.

Thursday, 28 May - Within the Octave, Semiduplex, red. Comm. S. Augustine of Canterbury, BC (In England, S. Augustine is transferred to 1 June this year). All as on the feast except proper lessons at Mattins and proper antiphons for the Benedictus and Magnificat. No doubling the antiphons at the major Hours. At Lauds, Comm. of S. Augustine. Mass is the same as the feast w/ Comm. of S. Augustine. II Vespers of the day, Comm, of S. Augustine.

Friday, 29 May - Ember Friday in the Pentecost Octave, Semiduplex, red. All as on the feast except proper lessons at Mattins, proper antiphons for the Benedictus and Magnificat, and a proper Collect for this day. No doubling the antiphons at the major Hours.  Mass (after None) is proper for this day, Gloria, no Comms., Credo, Preface, Communicantes, and Hanc igitur of Pentecost. II Vespers of the day, Comm. of the following.

Saturday, 30 May* - Ember Saturday in the Pentecost Octave, Semiduplex, red. Comm. S. Felix, PM. All as on the feast except proper lessons at Mattins, proper antiphons for the Benedictus and Magnificat, and a proper Collect for this day. No doubling the antiphons at the major Hours.  At Lauds, Comm. S. Felix. Mass (after None) is proper for this day, Gloria, Comm. S. Felix, Credo, Preface, Communicantes, and Hanc igitur of Pentecost.

After None and Mass, the Office of the Pentecost Octave and likewise the Paschal season ends, and the liturgical colour changes to white. Vespers of the following Trinity Sunday w/ Comm. of the First Sunday after Pentecost only. From henceforth until Advent exclusive, unless otherwise stated, the doxologies for the hymns are Per Annum and the melodies are the Per Annum Solemn, Ordinary, or Ferial as the case may be. The final Marian anthem is Salve Regina likewise until Advent exclusive.

* In France, S. Joan of Arc, VM, Duplex I Classis, assigned to 30 May, is transferred this year to 1 June.
