* The CTO observes the feast of the Sacred Heart as revised and extended by Pope Pius XI. However, the CTO does not extend Pius' new octave universally, but advises those who wish to observe the Sacred Heart Octave, to utilize all the Proper elements from editions of the BR from 1932-1954 whilst keeping all else in conformity to the Tridentine Office (e.g. Laudate psalms) and observing the usual rules of  octaves (e.g. no Suffragia and Preces) and occurrence and concurrence of days within octaves with Sundays and feasts. Those observing the octave ad libitum would also conform all hymns of iambic metre to the Sacred Heart doxology and melody through next Friday inclusive unless a proper doxology/melody is prescribed on a given day.
