* In the Franciscan Order, the Impression of the Stigmata of S. Francis, Duplex Majus, White.

** In Napoli/Campania and the Archdiocese of NY, Ss. Januarius, B, & Companions, MM, Duplex with Comm. of the Ember Day. This year, the Vigil of S. Matthew is anticipated on 19 September, but due to the occurring Ember Day, it is omitted.

N.B. The CTO keeps six out of the 10 possible days on which the September Ember Days occur free from feasts of nine lessons, so that the Ember Days can have a fair amount of unhindered observance in any given year. Hence, we keep the Stigmata of S. Francis as a particular feast only. This contrasts with the kalendar as of 1910 and under Divino Afflatu wherein said Ember Days are always reduced to commemorations every year due to the uninterrupted string of feasts of nine lessons from 15-24 September.
